Champs Again!!!

Senior League...under the excellent guidance of Coach Chris....the Reds have won their second Senior league Championship in a row!

Congrats Reds....a 13-10 victory over the Giants......It was an exciting game!!

The Reds ended up 1st in the division and first in the Championship....not too shabby!...

Here's the team shot:

as well as D and P "Langing" it up...so named for 2 super cool teammates (and brothers)the Langs!

Now we are on to Summer Travel League ...and that too is off to a great start ...2 wins in a row, and last night D hit the game winning shot at the bottom of the 7th (to break a tie) into the outfield...I was a SUPER proud Mom!

Happy Father's day

Sneaking this one a little late...was sick the entire month of May and 1/2 of June and then baseball took up the rest of my free time (including Father's day) so I finally am having a minute to sit and say a very special Happy Father's day to all the Dads out there, especially to My hubby Chris for being such a great Dad to Big D (or should we just call him "Minnie me")(vintage shot circa 2005)

and to my Dad, always there for me, for us, just the best Dad I could ask for, and of course to my brother Jon, my brother in Law Scott, and all my other brother in laws celebrating today.
Enjoy!

Memorial Day Egg Hunt

As I mentioned a few posts ago...I have pretty much been sick the entire month of May....so when I finally felt a bit better I invited Nick and Gracie over for their long over due Egg Hunt :) and we also added in a small version of "Mothers Day Brunch"...less my famous pecan rolls and Egg Casserole, as I still am not 100 % better (but I was afraid the Easter candy was getting old) ...so we also invited Mom and Dad over for breakfast as well...It was the most spectacular weekend, and the egg hunt was a success. Nick had us laughing the week before because I told him we had to wait till Dillon wasn't working so he could hide the eggs, as now that he's a teenager that gets to be his job. Nick says "Well, He's NOT very Good at it...he hid them all over the lawn last year" (think Dillon was trying to make it easy on them, as they were 3 and 4 at the time)..so Dillon thought he'd get back at them and make it hard this year (may have been a pride thing) but I told him not to , just make them a little harder....so I had to tease Nick in a phone call this week, because we found 4 still hidden while doing yard work later in the week...when I asked Kim if he had anything to say about my teasing she said, "oh yes, Nick had a REASON for why there were some left behind...I wish she could have remembered it , because you never know what's going to come out of his mouth...Nick and Gracie continually crack me up with their funny comments :)

Here are a couple cute picks from the fun visit.....

Busy Sports Mom

I am surprised I have actually been finding the time to add a post here and there (though I think I am the ONLY one that actually reads my blog ...haha..but I do enjoy perusing the old posts, so even if it is for me, at least I am enjoying it)....anyway, I digress...this month has been VERY busy with 2 sports...its practically every day that I am grabbing the water bottles, the sports chair, the bug spray...assorted sports items, such as cleats, bats, and uniform, and running out the door....but PLEASE don't let me forget my camera!

"Big D" has really started doing well in all of his events this year, whether cross country, soccer or baseball...I think he is finally growing into his size :)

Here are a few photos from a few different games so far this year....I don't want to Jinx the teams, but have to brag a bit...soccer record is 5-1-1 and Baseball so far is 5-0...On both our teams the guys really get along and play well together...which is so awesome!!!

Hello to all the Mothers, Grandmothers, and great Grandmothers in our lives........Want to wish you all a very nice Mothers Day...Especially to My Mom, and My 2 Grammies and My Sister , celebrating her Second Mothers Day!!!

Hope to rest and hope to make up with a belated Mothers day Brunch...and since I still have an Easter Egg Hunt pending for Nick and Gracie, who were sick on Easter....we will combine them both :)

Happy Mothers day to you too Kim!

My Anniversary Present?

It's been a long week......

Big D and I ended up with the "flu"....

So we have pretty much been housebound.....and sooo bored, so now that I am feeling better..... I thought I would take the opportunity to post a few posts (dated to their original timeframe) and try to catch up since the summer :) So much for blogging daily (or weekly/or monthly for that matter)

Tuesday was Our 18th anniversary, can you believe it?

That morning, while wandering around the house, I happened to peek out the window and saw a bunch of pretty deer between the house lots...My special anniversary presents!!

Love the wild animals in the yard.....

Uncle Len, Cousin Nicole and her daughter Sarah come to visit

Sorry, I am a little late in posting this, so I am guilty of back dating, to keep things in some semblance of order...... In July my Uncle ,Cousin, and her 1 year old daughter Sarah made the trek northward to visit us, and even more importantly, Great Grammy. This would be Sarah's first time meeting her Great Grandmother, just a month after celebrating her first birthday.....Nicole had been planning the trip for some time, and Great Grammy was anxiously awaiting their arrival.

Group shot 2009

The Southern B's stayed with us and we had a really nice time, lots of eating, visiting, swimming, eating, walking, eating, and photos, and oh yes, did I mention EATING? Yes, I admit, I like to cook, bake, and eat...so I was a really bad influence on them, especially when they arrived looking so fit,(they all looked great!)

We even got to celebrate uncle Len's Birthday....Mom, thanks for making the cool Oreo cake!

Uncle Len blows out the candles

The Whole Gang celebrating

Grammy enjoyed her time with them, as we did. I think she was exhausted after spending 10 hours with us one day, but she really seemed to enjoy us all being together.

4 Generations

Even Jon and Kim and Kids were able to come over..... when Matt and Allison came earlier in the year, J& K and family had gone south for Kim's Brother Gary's newest Baby's Christening, so they missed each other, which was too bad, since we don't get together all that often due to the 10 hour drive distance.

Nick, Sarah, and Gracie

This visit was so much fun, can't wait to see the newest baby...Evan....Claire and Keith's first child, who was born a little over a week before the Southern B's came to visit.

Two new Babies ....Same Day!

Today we got to celebrate welcoming a new baby into the family...not once, but twice.....

First my niece Patty (yes, I am old enough to have a niece who just had her 2nd child. ...yes, that makes me a Great Aunt (ugh)) and her husband Rob, welcomed little Aiden at 8:20 in the am....and then my Cousin Claire, and her husband Keith welcomed their first baby, Evan, at 5:53pm...
Congratulations to both families!

Both births also happened to be on my Goddaughter Sammies (sorry Sammie, I know this pic is old) 14th birthday...

Happy Birthday to all 3!

A little Mom bragging.....

Last night "Big D's" Baseball team won the Senior League Baseball Championship in a 3-2 victory under the lights....it was a nail biter for sure....tie game to start the last inning.......game ended with the bases loaded and the losing pitcher walking in the winning run...not an exciting end to the game, but kept me fidgeting the entire night...both teams left the bases loaded in innings throughout the game, so the 3-2 win doesn't elude to the nervousness of every inning!

Here's the team photo I took after they got their championship trophies.

Congratulations Reds, super job!

Jokes on Me!

So,

I thought I was being sweet (and of course funny ) putting the pic of my Dad in those silly pants on this blog.......but it turned out the joke was on me when Dad and Mom came for Fathers day supper......

..... Dad wearing his 1970 pants......still buttoned and all, impressive, and TOTALLY funny.......guess you can figure out where I get my packrat tendencies from.

Dad,
Thanks for the laugh, totally made my day!!!!!!

Matt and Allison come to Boston

Had a nice surprise last week......My cousin Allison and her Hubby, Matt came in from Va. to Boston to catch a Sox game (I am jealous) and meet up with some of Matt's College buddies. We were lucky enough to be able to have a nice brunch together at our house before they headed off to Boston.....It was a nice visit, though really too short....hopefully next time they come they will take us up on our offer and stay with us!

They also brought me a beautiful plant which is already planted in my shady garden bed.....

Thank you!!!!
